Day Program Benefits

Our skills based program for adults with special needs enables the participants to learn in a 1:2 staff to participant ratio.

The program develops skills in:

  • Equine/horse handling and care
  • Feeding and nutrition
  • Grooming and brushing
  • Stable management
  • Grounds keeping
  • Pasture care/management
  • Composting

What is a typical day?
9:00 am: Meet and Greet
9:15 am: Break into groups
10:00 am: Horse Grooming
10:30 am to Noon: General barn/facility care
12:30 pm: Lunch
1:00 pm: Horse nutrition/feed Set up
1:30 pm: Wrap up/ready for pick up
2:00 pm: Pick up time
Will food be provided?
Sorry, food is not available. A bagged lunch and snack must be brought to the program. We have a refrigerator and microwave onsite for your convenience.
Who Pays?
We are approved by the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) as a Real Life Choices Service Provider. Candidates registered with the New Jersey DDD are eligible for subsidies.
Do you provide transportation?
Transportation is not provided. Some local transportation may be available through county services.
How often can I attend?
Skills Based Day Program is offered Tuesday – Friday from 9am to 2pm.
Do I have to sign a contract to participate in the Day Program? Do I have to enroll for a certain period of time?
The program is based on a monthly calendar. In order to maintain our scheduling, we request that you commit to a month at a time with the understanding that you may choose to terminate without any penalty.

We require a Medical Form to be signed by a physician and a completed Registration Packet.
